:SEP I 0W <br />BOOK �9PAcE 228 <br />feel for how all the Commissioners felt before she even mentioned <br />it to anyone. <br />Commissioner Wheeler commented that his only concern with <br />any committees looking at something is that they have a tendency <br />to look at things in more of a vacuum than a Board looking at the <br />total picture. <br />Commissioner Eggert agreed, but asked that he appreciate <br />that the Library Committee has worked on this a very long time <br />and they went out and got the bond money voted. She did not <br />want to dismiss any advisory committee at all. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt what would help us all would be if <br />the Library Committee could take a look in the area we are <br />talking about specifically and see if there is not an acceptable <br />site there. He noted the end decision will be with this Board. <br />Commissioner Eggert advised that this will be presented at <br />the next committee meeting. She noted that when we are talking <br />about a governmental center, we are not talking about next year, <br />and she felt first we should get a master plan and then possibly <br />put the Library within it. <br />Chairman Scurlock expressed the thought that possibly we <br />could build the library as the first spoke and then have the rest <br />follow. <br />Commissioner Wheeler inquired about the status of our <br />request for proposals on a space study, and Administrator Balczun <br />advised that the proposals will be opened September 23rd at 2:00 <br />P.M. <br />DISCUSS REQUEST TO SUPPORT DNR PROPOSAL TO PURCHASE OCEANFRONT <br />Commissioner Wheeler referred the Board to the following <br />communication from the DNR: <br />46 <br />
