TENTATIVE BUDGET HEARING <br />Wednesday, September 2, 1987 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Special Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />September 2, 1987, at 5:01 o'clock P.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; <br />Richard N. Bird; Carolyn K. Eggert; and Gary C. Wheeler. Also <br />present were Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles P. <br />Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph <br />Baird, OMB Director; and Barbara Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and led the Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The Chairman announced that the purpose of this meeting is <br />to consider and adopt the Tentative Budget for fiscal year <br />1987-,1,88. The public hearing on the Final Budget will be held <br />September 9, 1987, at 5:01 o'clock. He explained to those <br />present the procedure that would be followed during the hearings <br />on the various funds, explaining that it is a pretty involved <br />process with a number of things prescribed by law, and in the <br />proceiss we will review all the taxing funds, which include the <br />Geneal Fund, Transportation Fund, General Purpose MSTU, Beach <br />Acquisition G.O. Bonds, Vero Lakes Estates MSTU, the Fire <br />Districts, and the various Street Lighting Districts and then <br />revi w the budgets for the remaining funds. <br />,Chairman Scurlock emphasized that we will not be discussing <br />the assessed value of properties as that matter is taken up with <br />the Property Appraiser and the Property Appraisal Adjustment <br />SEP 2 1987 BOOK 69 PAGE 232 <br />t <br />
