OCT <br />61987 <br />BOOK 69 <br />FacE 602 <br />TO: <br />The Board of County Commissioners <br />, <br />DATE: September 23, 1987 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing Public <br />Works Director to Execute O <br />Traffic Signal Maintenance Order Forms <br />FROM: Sharon Phillips BrennaA <br />Assistant County Attorney <br />Because the County is responsible for maintaining <br />traffic signals on State roads within the County, the Public <br />Works Director has had to request authorization from the <br />Board to sign a standard FDOT work order at times when <br />traffic signal maintenance is required. <br />Since this is a routine matter and would not be an <br />improper delegation of authority, it is recommended that a <br />resolution authorizing the Public Works Director to execute <br />standard traffic signal maintenance work orders be adopted. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously (4-0) approved <br />Resolution 87-124 authorizing the Public Works Director <br />to execute standard order forms for traffic signal <br />maintenance. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87- 124 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE STANDARD ORDER <br />FORMS SUBMITTED BY THE FLORIDA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE AND <br />OPERATION BY INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ON <br />THE STATE ROAD SYSTEM. <br />WHEREAS, it is often necessary for the Board of County <br />V <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, to authorize <br />the Public Works Director to execute traffic signal <br />maintenance and operation order forms submitted by the <br />Florida Department of Transportation for traffic signal <br />maintenance by the County on the State road system; and <br />
