The Vice Chairman asked if anyone present wished to be <br />heard. <br />Commissioner Bird noted the proposed useis for a nursery, --_ <br />and asked if Mr. Nettles understood there are operating citrus - - <br />groves in the area that may be spraying, etc., and possibly might <br />not be compatible with his proposed use. <br />Mr. Nettles advised that it will be a citrus nursery; so, it <br />is compatible with the neighbors. In addition a buffer zone is <br />required, and the entire site wouldn't be nursery. He felt there <br />is a need for citrus nursery plants to be grown locally. <br />The Vice Chairman determined that no one further wished to <br />be heard and thereupon declared the public hearing closed. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0) adopted <br />Ordinance 87-57 rezoning 10 acres west of King's <br />Highway and north of 61st Street to A-1 as requested <br />by Willis Nettles. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 87- 57 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE ACCOMPANYING ZONING MAP <br />FOR THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND PROVIDING <br />FOR EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, The Planning and Zoning Commission, sitting as the <br />local planning agency on such matters, has held a public hearing <br />and subsequently made a recommendation regarding this rezoning <br />request; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River - - <br />County, Florida, did publish and send its Notice of Intent to <br />rezone the hereinafter described property; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has determined <br />that this rezoning is in conformance with the Land Use Element of <br />the Comprehensive Plan of Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has held a public <br />hearing pursuant to this rezoning request, at which parties in <br />interest and citizens were heard; <br />31 <br />0T <br />X97 BOOK. 69 <br />
