IRC Bid #366 - Golf Course Liquid Fertilizer <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 10113187: <br />TO: Members of the <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: October 13, 1987 <br />SUBJECT: IRC BID # 366 - GOLF COURSE <br />LIQUID FERTILIZER <br />THROUGH: Bob Komarinetz Joseph A. Baird <br />Director of Golf OMB Director <br />FROM: Leila Miller <br />Budget Analyst <br />Recommendation <br />C. <br />Golf Course personnelreviewed all effers submitted for IRC <br />Bid # 366 - Golf Course Liquid Fertilizer. Upon reading these bids - <br />their staff feels that it would be in the best interest of the County <br />to purchase these items on an as -needed basis, rather than on an - <br />annual bid. <br />Intended Use of Capital Equipment <br />Liquid fertilizer is used to improve the general health and <br />appearance of the grass at the Golf Course. <br />Source of Funds <br />Funds for the purchase of liquid fertilizer are approved in the <br />1987/88 budget. <br />Bid Data <br />IRC Bid # 366 - Liquid Fertilizer was advertised July 31, August <br />3, 10 and 17, 1987. Bids were opened Wednesday, August 26, 1987 at <br />2:00 p.m. Six (6) bids were received of which three (3) were "no bids". <br />Commissioner Eggert questioned buying liquid or dry <br />fertilizer on an as- needed basis because of the tremendous <br />difference in price when you buy fertilizer in quantity. She <br />asked if we have an annual maintenance plan for the golf course. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt that fertilizer should have been <br />included in the total operating cost at budget time. <br />Commissioner Bird explained that the superintendent has to <br />sit down <br />at the first of the year and <br />decide how much <br />fertilizer <br />OCT 2 0 <br />L <br />. 1987 <br />25 <br />800K <br />69 FAU-735 <br />
