phi 2 0.1987' <br />BOOK 69 PAGE 752 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously granted <br />special exception approval to Tomas Vara for a guest <br />cottage with the condition that prior to release of the <br />approved site plan, a document, acceptable to the <br />County Attorney, shall be recorded in the public <br />records stating that the guest cottage shall not be <br />rented separately from the main house. <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING UTILITY STANDARDS <br />The Board reviewed the following utility standards: <br />13.05 EARTHWORK AND BACKFILL <br />All excavation for utilities and/or house connections shall be <br />adequately guarded with barricades and lights so as to protect the <br />public from hazard. Streets, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, parkways <br />and other public property disturbed in the course of the work shall <br />be restored in a manner satisfactory to the Division of Utility <br />Services. <br />Foundation material used for pipe bedding, from a minimum six-inch <br />distance below the pipe.invert to the lower half point of the pipe, <br />shall be bank run sand and gravel or crushed stone. Pipe embedment <br />material from the lower -half point to 12 inches above the top of the <br />pipe shall be bank run sand and gravel. Crushed stone or gravel <br />shall not be used as foundation material for truss pipe or PVC pipe. <br />A. INSTALLATION OF SEWER LINES <br />All gravity sewer installation procedures must be in accordance with <br />pipe manufacture's recommendations. All gravity sewers and force <br />mains shall be installed to have a minimum cover of '36". <br />Installation of gravity sewers shall be controlled by use of a laser <br />to maintain proper grade. <br />Installation' -of force mains shall be in accordance with AWWA <br />Standard C600 and the installation specifications for water lines in <br />the water distribution section, irrespective of the type of pipe <br />selected. <br />a) Trench --Trench width shall be kept to a minimum necessary for <br />installation of the pipe. The trench bottom shall be graded <br />uniformly to match the slope of the pipe. <br />b) Backfill - Only good quality backfill, free of stones, roots, <br />rocks, broken cement or other material which might be damaging <br />to the .pipe, shall be used. Backfill shall be put in the <br />trench in uniform lifts. <br />C) Compaction - All fill must be compacted by hand tamping from <br />under the pipe up to the center line. Backfill shall be <br />compacted in lifts up to the surface to achieve a minimum <br />compaction of 95% of maximum density in accordance with AAHO <br />T-180 and ASTM D-2167. <br />42 <br />
