period of time and did not have any problem with an alternative <br />reopener or some kind of extension. <br />Chairman Scurlock had a question relating to the original <br />cost of the sign and whether or not it can be depreciated over <br />the period of this agreement. <br />Commissioner Wheeler believed the City of Vero Beach in <br />their sign ordinance, figured a sign could be depreciated in five <br />years regardless of its cost. He pointed out that we can cancel <br />this agreement on 90 days' notice, and he, therefore, did not <br />have a problem with an option to renew. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously approved <br />the proposed agreement with the modification of an <br />option to renew as discussed. <br />Administrator Balczun informed the Board that yesterday <br />Albamar's representative proposed by letter an alternative to our <br />licensing fee and felt we should at least put his offer, which is <br />as follows, on the record: <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />1840 25th Street <br />Vero Beach, F1. 32960 <br />Attn: Mr. Charles P. Balczun <br />County Administrator <br />November 9, 1987 <br />Albamar, Inc., a Florida Corporation, Michael C.
