REFERENCES: BCC <br />Chief, Current Development STAN3 <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting of November 17, 1987. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Public Library Advisory Board (PLAB) (and its Site Selection <br />Subcommittee) has completed its investigation into potential <br />library sites for the two proposed library facilities: <br />1. North County community library, building approximately 15,000 <br />sq. ft. of floor area; and <br />2. County main library, building approximately 35,000 sq. ft. of <br />floor area for first phase, eventual expansion to 50,000 sq. <br />ft. of floor area. <br />On October 14, 1987, based upon recommendations by the Site <br />Selection Subcommittee, the PLAB recommended and ranked potential <br />library sites for both the community and main library facilities. <br />The recommendations made by the PLAB are as follows: <br />North County Community Library <br />#1 Sebastian Lakes site on C.R. 512 near Roseland Road. <br />#2 Sebastian General Partnership at C.R. 512 within the Chesser <br />Gap project site. <br />#3 Fischer block at C.R. 512 and U.S. #1. <br />County Main Library (Vero Beach) <br />#1 Grace Lutheran block/ surrounding area between 21st and 22nd <br />Street, and 16th and 17th Avenue. <br />#2 Catron site located on the south side of S.R. 60 between 23rd <br />and 25th Avenue. <br />#3 MacArthur/Davis site at 20th Street and 10th Avenue, across <br />from the 2001 Building. <br />The Board of County Commissioners is to consider these recommen- <br />dations and consider the selection of a site for the main library <br />and for the community library. <br />It should be noted that consideration of this item has, as a <br />courtesy, been advertised and property owners surrounding each <br />recommended site have been notified of this meeting. <br />14 <br />
