that it has been beneficial being able to utilize that water if <br />and when they needed it. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked where they would fill the tankers if <br />they didn't have that source available, and Chief Allen advised <br />that they have the capability of drafting water out of swimming <br />pools, ponds, ditches, etc. <br />Commissioner Wheeler noted that they wouldn't be the first <br />responder, but Chief Allen advised that when we notify North <br />County of a fire within the Wabasso area, we have asked them to <br />request our unit to respond, and if they would do that, we <br />probably would be the first unit due to the fact that our people <br />are sitting there ready to roll. <br />Commissioner Wheeler asked if he was saying that is not <br />occurring, and Chief Allen stated that it hasn't been occurring. <br />Director Wright informed the Board that there have been a <br />lot of improvements made in the North County District, and they <br />are continuing to improve their relationship with the South <br />County. He confirmed that the South County has given them <br />ultimate support. <br />Mr. Ranson wished to know if they have a fire at Graves <br />Brothers whom he should call. <br />Chief Allen explained that the call would go in to 911, and _ <br />they would relay the call to the South County District, who in <br />turn.notifies North County. We have asked them to utilize the <br />Mutual Aid Agreement and request the South County unit to <br />respond, but they do not always do that. <br />Mr. Ranson stated that he is very concerned, especially when <br />he sees the condition of the equipment in Wabasso, and wanted to <br />be sure someone makes the correct call. <br />Chairman Scurlock emphasized that the North County District <br />is responsible for fires in the Graves Brothers area, and the <br />primary responder would be Wabasso.
