PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />MEETING - JANUARY 28, 1988 - SELECTION COMMITTEE <br />CONSULTING ENGINEERING FIRMS - QUALIFICATIONS <br />COMMITTEE MEMBERS: <br />DATE: <br />Charles Balczun, County Administrator <br />Jim Davis, Director of Public Works <br />Perry Mattes, Assistant County Administrator <br />Terry Pinto, Director of Utility Services <br />Doug Scurlock, Chairman, BCC <br />JANUARY 28, 1988 - 9:30 A.M. <br />The Committee discussed the consulting engineering firms qualifications <br />and experience in Indian River County and outside of the County. <br />The Committee discussed method of categorizing work areas for which <br />each engineering firm..would be contracted. <br />The Committee looked at all possible conflicts of interest with any of <br />the engineering firms selected. <br />The Committee recommended that the contracts be granted covering work <br />in the stated classifications to the listed firms, in the following <br />methods: <br />CLASSIFICATION #1: SURVEYING OTHER THAN DIRECTLY RELATED TO DESIGN <br />PROJECT. <br />On an INDIVIDUAL JOB BASIS, the County shall <br />receive quotations from the following firms: <br />1. Beindorf & Associates <br />2. Carter & Associates <br />3. Lloyd & Associates <br />4. Masteller, Moler & Reed, Inc. <br />CLASSIFICATION #2: <br />DESIGN, PERMITTING, BIDDING, CONSTRUCTION <br />MANAGEMENT OF WATER TREATMENT PLANTS: <br />The firms are short-listed to three companies: <br />1. Camp, Dresser & McKee <br />2. DSS Engineers <br />3. Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan <br />The Committee will schedule interviews with these <br />three firms to determine ranking order for <br />recommendation to the Board. <br />Firms will be ranked in the order in which <br />negotiations will proceed, dropping to the second, <br />third, or fourth firm if negotiations are not <br />successful. <br />CLASSIFICATION #3: DESIGN, PERMITTING, BIDDING, CONSTRUCTION, <br />MANAGEMENT OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS: <br />This classification has to be divided into two <br />areas: Treatment plants up to 3MGD; <br />Treatment plants over 3MGD. <br />UP TO 3MGD OVER 3MGD <br />Masteller & Moler <br />Camp, Dresser & McKee <br />Post, Buckley, Schuh <br />54 <br />MAR. 1 1988 <br />Camp, Dresser & McKee <br />Post, Buckley, Schuh,etc. <br />Smith & Gillespie <br />BOOK 71 A rE 152 <br />
