ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Bowman, the Board unanimously authorized the <br />Chairman to write a letter urging the Bureau of Grant <br />Services of the Division of Cultural Affairs to give <br />the Center for the Arts all four grants. <br />DOCUMENTS TO BE MADE A PART OF THE RECORD <br />A. Proclamation Honoring Jack Fay <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, JACK FAY, senior reporter for the Sebastian Sun <br />will retire in mid-March, 1988, after 39 years as a journalist; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, JACK is probably the senior active member of the <br />news media in Indian River County; and. <br />WHEREAS, JACK has been associated with the Sebastian Sun <br />since 1979; was News Director of WTTB from 1972-1979; Vero Beach <br />Bureau Chief for the Miami Herald from 1969 to 1972, and from <br />1966-69 JACK was with the Orlando Sentinel, Titusville, Daytona <br />Beach and Vero Beach Bureaus; and <br />WHEREAS, JACK came to Florida in 1965 as a police reporter <br />with the Daytona Beach News Journal; and <br />WHEREAS, JACK has writtOn the Beachcomber column for a <br />number of newspapers for over 20 years and will continue to <br />contribute the "Beachcomber" and "On the One Hand" columns in the <br />Sebastian Sun during his retirement; <br />67 <br />1988 <br />BOOK 71 FAH 165 <br />
