McCAIN, PROJECTS ENGINEER <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: SOUTH COUNTY REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT IMPROVEMENTS <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Department of Utility Services has retained DSS Engineers under. <br />contract, Agreement for Professional Services for Continuing Services <br />for the Reverse Osmosis Plant, dated March 20, 1985, for work relating <br />to the Reverse Osmosis Plant Improvements Program. Currently, there <br />are three contracts to be awarded within the next few months, as <br />follows: <br />CONTRACT #1 - GENERAL CONSTRUCTION REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT IMPROVEMENTS <br />IRC PROJECT NO. UW -88 -01 -WC <br />CONTRACT #2 - WELL DRILLING - REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT IMPROVEMENTS <br />IRC PROJECT NO. UW -88 -02 -WC <br />CONTRACT #3 - DEGASIFIER - REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT IMPROVEMENTS <br />IRC PROJECT NO. UW -88 -03 -WC <br />Other services will be required of DSS Engineers, Inc.; i.e., bid <br />evaluation, and preparation and submittal to DER the application for a <br />Construction Permit. Additional services will also be required during <br />the construction period of these projects such as construction manage- <br />ment and coordination, as -built drawings, and the operation and <br />maintenance manuals for the improvements. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The work orders being recommended are as follows: <br />WORK ORDER NO. DESCRIPTION <br />06a Services during Bidding period at a cost of $8,000.00. <br />18 File Application for DER general construction Permit <br />at a cost of $2,500.00. <br />07a This work order will cover: <br />1) The as -built drawings at a cost of $3,424.00. <br />2) Operations and Maintenance Manuals at a cost of <br />$3,252.00. <br />3) Construction management and coordination over and <br />above the monies approved by W.O. #07 in the amount <br />of $14,960.00. These are: <br />A. $5,590.00 Initial Project Kick-off <br />B. $22,280.00 for resident site inspector and <br />associated backup. <br />The new total for #07a is as follows: <br />$ 3,424.00 - as -built drawings <br />3,252.00 - 0 & M Manuals <br />27,870.00 - Revised Inspection Total for <br />projects listed <br />(14,960.00)- W.O. #07, amount previously approved <br />for inspection services <br />MAR 2 2 1988 <br />$19,586.00 - TOTAL WORK ORDER #07a <br />36 <br />BOOK 71.
