Appointment to Environmental Control Hearing Board <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 3/2/88: <br />Mr. Don Scurlock, Jr. ,Chairman <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Administration Building <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32960 <br />Dear Mr. Scurlock: <br />363 Grove Isle Circle <br />Vero Peach, Florida 32962 <br />March 2, 1988 <br />---I—recently resigned from the Board of Adjustment of <br />the City of Vero Beach after nine years of service. <br />Now -that I live in the County, I would like to <br />volunteer to serve on one of the County boards. <br />Having lived in Indian River County for almost twenty <br />years, I am reasonably familiar with its governmental <br />functions. My service on the Indian River Volunteer <br />Ambulance Squad for nineteen years has also familiarized <br />me with the area. <br />My background, before retirement, was in sciences, <br />I taught biological and physical sciences for many <br />years in New Jersey as well as in the public schools <br />of Indian River County. In the business world, I <br />served for thirteen years as Senior Science Editor for <br />Holt, Rinehart, and Winston, one of the leading publishers <br />of school textbooks in the United States. <br />My activities include: Vero Beach Theatre Guild, Vero <br />Beach Barbershop Chorus,.
