4. Transfer of Funds to Pay the Cost of Checking Petitions - <br />Supervisor of Elections <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 6/10/88: <br />June 10, 1988 <br />TO: HON. DON C. SCURLOCK, JR., CHAIRMAN, BCC <br />/0 <br />FROM: ANN ROBINSON, SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS <br />RE: AGENDA ITEM FOR BCC AGENDA OF JUNE 21, 1988 <br />The Florida Committee For Liability Reform has sent <br />petitions to us since last September for checking the <br />signatures on the petitions. The 10� per signature <br />is sent to us in.a check accompanying the petitions. <br />We have turned over the checks for deposit into the <br />Board of County Commissioners' revenue account as <br />required; the staff cost of checking the petitions <br />has been absorbed in the elections budget because we <br />received only several hundred petitions at a time. <br />We recently received checks totaling $368.10 with <br />3,681 petitions to check. I will have to pay one <br />of our part-time employees for two weeks to complete <br />the entire process of checking 3,681 petitions. <br />I request that you transfer the $368.10 into elections <br />account 001-700-519-011.13, Other Salaries, to pay <br />the cost of checking the petitions. <br />Thank you. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (3-0, <br />Commissioners Eggert and Scurlock being absent) <br />approved the transfer of $368.10 into elections <br />account #001-700-519-011.13, Other Salaries, to <br />pay the cost of checking petitions, as requested <br />by the Supervisor of Elections. <br />5.
