Balczun <br />FROM: County Administrator REFERENCES: <br />BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS <br />The County has been acquiring parcels to the north of the County <br />Administration -Building for the last several years. _.- <br />Within the general area of those acquisitions another parcel has <br />become available. That parcel is located at -the Northeast corner <br />of the intersection of 19th Avenue and 26th Street and directly <br />across from our Warehouse. The available parcel is Block 6, West <br />1/2 of Lot 6 and West 1/2 of East 1/2 of Lot 6 - Booker T. <br />Washington Subdivision - and totals some 4,687.5 sf + or -. <br />The current asking price for the parcel is $20,000. <br />The County currently owns all of blocks 3 and 4, 650 of block 6, <br />50% of block 7.and 300 of block 5. Of the 5 blocks (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) <br />the County owns 32 of the 47 lots. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that this matter be given favorable consideration <br />by the Board of County Commissioners and that staff be directed to <br />enter into negotiations for the parcel. <br />FUNDING <br />The account against which this acquisition would be charged <br />currently has an unencumbered appropriation balance of $65,465 and ' <br />a cash balance of approximately $75,000. <br />[JUL 198855 BOOK 7 f AGE 19, <br />
