D. <br />County Health Director <br />SUBJECT: Attached Award letter from <br />the Department of Health and <br />Rehabilitative Services regarding <br />increases in funding <br />. Galanis, M.P.H. REFERENCE: - - <br />Environmental Health <br />Chapter.154, Florida Statutes, requires the department to notify <br />the county when any increases in State Funding are received by the <br />County Public Health Unit. <br />The statute further requires that this modification of the contract <br />be approved by the Board of County Commissioners. These funds were <br />excess funds distributed to projects who applied and are earmarked for <br />capital equipment to be used at the health departments Vero Beach, <br />Sebastian, and Fellsmere locations. <br />It should be noted however that the eleven thousand three hundred <br />sixteen ($11,316) dollars awarded by St. John's will actually be granted <br />to the Board of County Commissioners and be passed through to the County <br />Public Health Unit. Further contract development by the County Public <br />Health -Unit will reflect these as county contributions to the overall-._. <br />operations of the Health Department. <br />If the Board of County Commissioners chooses to concur with the funding <br />increase, no action is necessary at this time. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />si-oner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0) concurred <br />with the funding increase described above and as per <br />memo of the Environmental Health Director. <br />54 <br />BOOK 73 F'"CC 194 <br />
