Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Gifford Street Light District <br />Request for additional lights <br />DATE: July 28, 1988 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Staff has received the following requests for additional <br />street lights: <br />1) Ola Smith d.b.a. Smith Grocer. <br />32nd Avenue and 45th Street - New poles have been <br />installed in conjunction with Gifford Sewer Project. <br />Property owner is requesting new lights be installed.- <br />2) <br />nstalled. <br />2) 49th Street (Lindsey Road) at Kings Highway - General <br />public is requesting a light at this intersection. <br />Both areas are in the Gifford Street Light District. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Staff has inspected both sites and offer the following <br />opinions: <br />Site 1 - 45th Street at 32nd Avenue. <br />Mrs. Ola Smith is requesting a new light due to alleged <br />drug sales and nighttime loitering along 45th Street. <br />An existing street light is approximately 80' east of <br />the new poles east of 32nd Avenue. Gifford Street Light <br />District light spacing is approximately 3001 in this <br />area.
