meeting was scheduled by the staff, not by this Board. <br />Commissioner Bowman did not understand why they would have <br />done 1t. <br />Commissioner Eggert understood the consultants were finished <br />and ready to explain what they had done. <br />Commissioner Bowman stated that it should not have been <br />announced publicly. It should have been fine tuned because you <br />know a Secretary Code 1 in one department is not the same as <br />Secretary I in another department. <br />Commissioner Eggert believed that was supposed to be part of <br />the pre-process before the consultants got it. <br />Chairman Scurlock emphasized that the bottom line is that <br />the Commission did not schedule that workshop. In fact, we sat <br />at the workshop and said work on it some more, and they came back <br />to a formal Commission meeting, and we said we are still unhappy; <br />it needs more work. <br />Commissioner Bowman noted the work is still going on, and <br />the Chairman felt that is a good point. <br />Commissioner Eggert noted that it is very difficult - there <br />are a lot of things she wished didn't get out so quickly, but <br />that is the nature of government. if something comes in here, it <br />is public. <br />Commissioner Wheeler recommended that immediately following <br />the meeting, we locate the tape of the meeting where we discussed <br />the 90 day contract, and it was noted that tape is in the <br />possession of the Clerk to the Board. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION on the Motion <br />to exercise our option under the contract and give <br />Administrator Balczun 90 days' notice. <br />It was voted on and carried 4 to 1 with Commissioner <br />Bowman voting in opposition. <br />60 <br />AUG 9 1988 Boow 73 F'A;E 411 <br />
