DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Purchasing has collected surplus equipment from various <br />` departments. Two reviews were scheduled for departments <br />to reclaim items that could be used. <br />2. ALTERNATIVES: <br />Because of our limited storage space, I am requesting that <br />these items be officially declared surplus and authorize <br />a surplus property sale open to the public. We intend to <br />use the sealed bid method to sell these items and will <br />advertise in the local newspaper. Items not sold will be <br />disposed of by use of the landfill. <br />3. ON: <br />I recommend that we declare all items on the attached lists <br />to be surplus property and authorize proceeds to be returned <br />to the fund from which the asset was originally purchased. <br />P. If possible, we would like revenues <br />generated by the sale of these items returned to the Sheriff Department's <br />General Fund Account. <br />Thank you for your assistance. <br />BILL BA19D, GENERAL SERVICES <br />OMB Director Baird informed the Board that the Sheriff is <br />requesting that the monies generated by the sale of surplus items <br />be given back to his Department, but Director Baird did not <br />agree. He explained that we purchased the items that replaced <br />these through the construction fund so the revenue should go back <br />in the General Fund.
