ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0) <br />granted final plat approval to replat a portion <br />of Seagrove West and authorized the Chairman to sign <br />the Contract for Construction of Required Improve- <br />ment and to accept the Irrevocable Letter of Credit <br />subject to contract corrections and title certifi- <br />cation and Power of Attorney updates. <br />COPIES OF ABOVE DOCUMENTS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE <br />BOARD. <br />GIFFORD PARK TENNIS COURT/BASKETBALL LIGHTING <br />The Board reviewed memo of the Public Works Director: <br />TO: William Collins II, <br />Acting County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Gifford Park Tennis Court/Basketball Lighting <br />REF. MEMO: Ralph N. Brescia, P.E. to James Davis dated 8-16=88 <br />DATE: August 17, 1988 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />This project was previously bid, however, no bids were received. <br />Therefore, staff was authorized by the Board of County <br />Commissioners on July 26, 1988, to negotiate with local con- <br />tractors. Four electrical contractors were contacted for pro- <br />posals to construct the Gifford Court Lighting. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The low bid was submitted by Paragon Electric of Vero Beach, Inc. <br />for a price of $16,470. There is $17,000 allocated for this <br />project in the Parks Dept. fund 001-210-572-066.39, Capital <br />expenditures. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends that the proposal by Paragon Electric be <br />accepted and the Chairman be authorized to execute a contract for <br />the work.
