J. COOPERATION WITH IRC IN UTILIZING THE SEBASTIAN CLIVUS <br />MULTRUM FACTCTT4—FOO5E— NGE <br />FOR I A S €R CORIRE 10N To—TRE—NORTH To—TRE—NORTHCOUNTY S R S S EM <br />Mayor Votapka stated that the City of Sebastian would like <br />to eliminate the Clivus Multrum in Riverview Park in exchange for <br />connection to the north county sewer system. <br />Utilities Director Pinto felt the Clivus Multrum could be <br />used on one of the islands or in some other remote area. He <br />advised that the wastewater facility being designed will service <br />Riverview Park and there are impact fees which will fund it. A <br />possible solution would be for the recreation department to pay <br />the impact fees and then take possession of the Clivus Multrum. <br />K. RECOMMENDATION TO THE COUNTY FOR THE POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF <br />THE KROEGEL CATH -ON _ <br />PRESERVATION POS S� <br />Mayor Votapka noted that he had attended an April 24, 1988 <br />open house at the 3.9 acre homestead, and recommended that the <br />County consider purchasing it for its historical significance. <br />Director Keating advised that he had an agenda item for the <br />September 6, 1988 County Commission meeting requesting an <br />historic survey grant, and Commissioner Bowman recommended that <br />the County try to have the homestead designated a national <br />monument. <br />L. BARBER STREET SPORTS COMPLEX - CURRENT STATUS AND_ <br />PR PPOS€DP— LA IR" ' <br />Mayor Votapka explained that the County has appropriated <br />$40,000 to the Sports Complex, the City has appropriated $21,000 <br />and that the City has been working closely with the Little <br />League, Sebastian Panthers and Exchange Club. <br />City Manager Robert McClary explained that he had met with <br />Commissioner Bird, Pat Callahan and Jim Davis and agrees that the <br />City is at a crossroads regarding recreation.
