M M <br />Commissioner Eggert expressed her concern about the diffi- <br />culty she has encountered when heading north on U.S.1 at night <br />and trying to turn onto Indian River Boulevard. She felt that <br />perhaps installing pavement reflectors there might help people <br />negotiate this turn at night. <br />Public Works Director Davis advised that the DOT is <br />beginning to implement the 5 laning of U.S.I. from the South <br />Relief Canal bridge up to 10th Street, and they are going to be <br />looking at that approach and putting.in reflecting pavement <br />markings and chanellizing it a bit better. <br />-Commissioner Eggert stated that she would like to move ahead <br />with improving this approach sooner, if possible, and Director <br />Davis felt that while we could apply for a permit to do something <br />there, whatever, we could do would be taken up quickly as they <br />are going to be breaking up the pavement. <br />Board members continued to emphasize that they felt this is <br />a bad situation, and Director Davis agreed that he would talk to <br />the DOT about the possibility of doing something to improve it. <br />CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES PHASE 111 JAIL (WORK ORDER #3/CARTER <br />The Board reviewed memo from the Public Works Department: <br />95 OK P9GE 95 <br />
