t <br />Commissioner Eggert felt that we need to either use the. <br />garage or get rid of it, and Chairman Scurlock wished to see us <br />contract out for some of the services of Fleet Management. <br />Director Jim Davis felt we could do it for some of the <br />smaller equipment but there is no local shop to service the <br />larger equipment and the graders. He recommended not going out <br />for heavy equipment. <br />k <br />TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Commissioner Bowman read the following Summary of Actions of <br />the September 14th meeting of the Transportation Planning <br />Committee: <br />TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />SUMMARY OF ACTIONS <br />September 14, 1988 MEETING <br />The Transportation Planning Committee recommended the following <br />actions during its 9/14/88 meeting: (A quorum was not present.) <br />1. Royal Palm Place/Boulevard Improvements <br />Mr. Suthard requested that the motion at the last meeting <br />to be changed as follows: <br />The Committee unanimously endorsed the concept of the <br />project as outlined, and recommends that the County <br />Commission agree to the use of impact fee revenue for <br />funding where and if applicable within the scope of <br />the project. <br />2. 20th Avenue/8th-Street Intersection <br />The Committee unanimously voted 4-0 to recommend to the <br />County Commission an interim 4 -way stop at the intersection <br />of 20th Avenue and 8th Street until signalization is <br />installed. <br />3. County Bikeway/Sidewalk Plan <br />The Committee unanimously voted 4-0 to recommend adoption <br />of the plan in principle, and transmittal of the plan to the <br />Indian River County, Sebastian, Fellsmere and Indian River <br />Shores Planning and Zoning Commissions. <br />Chairman Bowman will contact the Sheriff's office regarding <br />citizens riding bicycles at night without lights. <br />37 t30Q!' 3� <br />EP <br />
