Acting Administrator Collins informed the Board that we have <br />no further expectations of them, and he felt they should be paid <br />in full. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0) <br />approved final payment to TPF6C for the Pay and <br />Classification Study in the amount of $7,605. <br />H. Proclamation - Mental Illness Awareness Week <br />ON MOTION By Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0) designated <br />the week of October 2 through October 8, 1988, as <br />Mental Illness Awareness Week. <br />P R O C L A.M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, one in four families has a member who suffers from <br />a serious mental illness; and <br />WHEREAS, services to the unfortunate victims of mental <br />illness must be maintained and strengthened; and <br />WHEREAS, now there is treatment for people who suffer from <br />anxiety disorders, depression and other mental illnesses, thanks <br />to biomedical research; and <br />WHEREAS, now there is hope for people who suffer from severe <br />mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and depression; and <br />WHEREAS, mentally ill persons occupy more hospital beds than <br />persons suffering from cancer, lung, and heart disease combined; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, serious mental illnesses are "no-fault" brain <br />diseases, and being mentally healthy is as important as being <br />physically fit; <br />OCT 41988 <br />11 <br />BOOK 74 F.,GE 408 <br />
