Davis, P.E., c-� <br />Public Works Director <br />Land Management Plan for North Beach Complex <br />Indian River County, Florida <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />As a condition of the Sublease Agreement between the State of <br />Florida Department of Natural Resources and Indian River County, <br />dated September 7, 1988, the Land Management Plan for the North <br />Beach Complex Site (77.62 acres of land lying east and west of <br />SR A1A approximately 2.5 miles north of CR510 and containing <br />4,515 lineal feet of beach frontage) has been prepared by the <br />Public Works Department staff and is ready• for transmittal to the <br />State of Florida DNR. The Plan provides for the development of a <br />recreation area containing the following: <br />Phase 1 - 2 highway property accesses - east of A1A <br />2 highway property accesses - west of A1A <br />180 parking spaces <br />(10 RV/trailer) -east of A1A <br />15 parking spaces --west of A1A <br />2 restroom buildings <br />2 dune crossings <br />- 1 concession building <br />1 campground check-in/park ranger quarters building <br />- 1 lifeguard tower <br />- 1 volleyball net <br />- 11 Picnic Shelters <br />Phase 2 - 30 campsites <br />- 80 parking spaces <br />2 dune crossings <br />2 volleyball nets <br />15 picnic shelters <br />2 highway property accesses east of AlA <br />1 highway property access west of A1A <br />The project cost is estimated to be approximately $1,370,000. <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee approved the Management Plan <br />on Sept. 8, 1988 after public input. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The alternatives are as follows: <br />Alternative 1 - Approve the plan and transmit a copy to the DNR <br />Division of Recreation and Parks. <br />Alternative 2 - Request staff to amend plan. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING <br />It is recommended that the plan be approved and transmitted to <br />DNR (Alternative 1). <br />Copy of Management Plan is on'file in BCC office. <br />OCT 41988 <br />36 <br />?o;aF F E 433 <br />
