Davis, P.E. <br />d(,v <br />Public Works Directo <br />Selection of Consultant and Professional <br />Engineering Services Agreement for Various County <br />Road and Intersection Improvements <br />DATED: September 26, 1988 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Staff has advertised for Statements of Qualifications and <br />Letters of Interest from qualified consultants, reviewed those <br />qualifications, short listed three firms and conducted interviews <br />of these firms. The resultant ranking of the firms is <br />1. Kimley Horn Inc. - Vero Beach <br />2. Gee & Jensen - Stuart <br />3. Marshall McCully with FLD & E Joint Venture <br />The services consist of engineering analysis and design of <br />the following projects: <br />Part 1 Special Assessment Paving <br />a) Walker Avenue (26th Street) from 66th Ave west to <br />Village Green Phase II - approximately 0.50 miles <br />b) Cherry Lane (33rd Street) from 58th Avenue to 66th <br />Avenue - approximately 1.0 miles <br />c) R.D. Carter Road (1st Street SW) from Kings <br />Highway (58th Ave) to Monroe Road (66th Ave) <br />approximately 1.0 miles <br />Part 2 <br />a) <br />Improve, signalize and upgrade intersection of <br />CR510 at A -1-A. <br />b) Widen from two lanes to five lanes Kings Highway <br />from SR60 south to 12th Street, approximately 1.0 <br />miles <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The alternatives are as follows: <br />Alternative #1 <br />Authorize staff to negotiate contract terms with the highest <br />ranked firm. <br />OCT 41988 <br />39 <br />GOOK 74 PAGE 436 <br />
