building of 42,800 sq. ft. They are proposing a building that is <br />half medical and half general offices. Mr. Barkett pointed out <br />that Mr. Kutschinski could put in a larger building without <br />having to get the Board's permission and generate more traffic. <br />Staff has studied 'this -end concluded that medical offices don't <br />present problems. Since both staff and P&Z favor allowing <br />medical related offices as permitted uses in PRO, Mr. Barkett <br />felt that is a pretty good recommendation, and his client <br />supports it. <br />Ruth Chapman, resident of Rockridge, advised that basically <br />she personally goes along with this recommendation. Rockridge <br />residents feel this will generate less traffic than was <br />originally proposed for the number of units per acre. Also there <br />will be more setbacks and more parking spaces. Mrs. Chapman then <br />stressed their concern with 6th Avenue and hoped that a definite <br />widening be made at the corner of 17th St. and 6th Avenue and <br />that there be no egress onto 6th Avenue going north. <br />Chairman Scurlock pointed out that is really not related to <br />this ordinance which is countywide, and Mrs. Chapman reiterated <br />that she sees no problem with the proposed ordinance. <br />It was determined that no one else wished to be heard, and <br />the Chairman declared the public hearing closed. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Eggert, Chairman Scurlock voting in opposition, <br />the Board by a 4 to 1 vote, adopted Ordinance 88-44 <br />providing for medical related offices in the PRO <br />Zoning District. <br />Chairman Scurlock stated that although the facts related to <br />a specific case may be one thing, he still was concerned about <br />the long range ramifications of expansion of this particular <br />vehicle which we created and the impact on adjacent residential <br />29 <br />NOV 1 1988 <br />�o�K 75 FAH 29 <br />
