Collins II <br />FROM: Acting County Administrator REFERENCES: <br />1 • t.:;f- <br />/0A-4/a <br />We have been notified by the State Department of Natural Resources that it <br />intends to dispose of two parcels of land located on 90th Ave. approximately <br />one mile north of 8th Street. The State has notified us that before they sell <br />it we may purchase this land for public purposes at a price no higher than it <br />is offered for sale. The Public Works Department has indicated that the <br />parcel could _ be used as a West County park, or as a Road and Bridge <br />Division western field office. <br />Pursuant to Florida Statute 253.111 the County must determine by Resolution <br />whether or not it proposes to devote such land to public parks or other <br />public purposes. If the Board determines that it wishes to devote this land <br />to a public purpose it has an additional 50 days to specify the purpose and to <br />prepare a tentative plan of development for the land which includes a date of <br />commencement not later than two years after the date of the Resolution and <br />conclusion of development not later than four years after the date of the <br />Resolution. <br />Attached is a Resolution to notify the State Department of Natural Resources <br />of our interest in the event the Board decides to pursue the acquisition of <br />this parcel of land. <br />NOV 11888 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />Resolution 88-115 notifying the DNR of our interest. <br />63 <br />Nox 75 F,1 E 63 <br />
