ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 88-117 supporting passage of State <br />Constitutional Amendment #4. <br />RESOLUTION 88-117 <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF <br />STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 114. <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Legislature during the 1988 session passed <br />legislation enabling the voters of Florida to vote on a constitutional resolution <br />permitting the sale of bonds, AND <br />WHEREAS, those•bonds will be financed by current Florida Department of <br />Transportation revenue and will not necessitate an increase in taxes, AND <br />WHEREAS, said bonds will be used exclusively for the purpose of buying <br />right-of-way for transportation projects, AND <br />WHEREAS, bonds will also be used for construction and repair of Florida <br />bridges, AND <br />WHEREAS, It has been estimated by financial consultants that the sale of <br />said bonds by the Department of Transportation will save the taxpayers of <br />the State of Florida approximately $70 million dollars, AND <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems It to the best <br />interest to the State of Florida to encourage the passage of Amendment #4. <br />NOW THEREFORE, be It resolved by the Board of County Commissioners; <br />THAT THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY supports the passage of Amendment #4 on the November 8th ballot <br />and recommends to the voters of Indian River County to Join in supporting <br />the passing of the Amendment. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Eggert <br />and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Wheeler and, upon <br />being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Aye <br />Vice -Chairman Gary C. Wheeler Aye <br />Commissioner Richard N. Bird Aye <br />Commissioner Margaret C. Bowman Aye <br />Commissioner Carolyn K.
