SUGGESTED DATES FOR CITY/COUNTY WORKSHOP <br />Discussion ensued in regard to having a joint meeting with <br />the Vero Beach City Council on November 17th. <br />It was generally agreed to inform the City of Vero Beach, <br />that the County Commissioners will be available for a joint <br />meeting on the morning of November 17th but not for the entire <br />day and see if that is agreeable with them. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF A 55% EPA GRANT FOR OUR PROPOSED REGIONAL SLUDGE <br />SEPTAGE FACILITY PROJECT <br />Chairman Scurlock reviewed the following memo: <br />TO: WILLIAM G. McCAIN <br />PROJECTS ENGINEER <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILI SERVICES <br />ICES <br />DATE: OCTOBER 27, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF A 55% ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY GRANT <br />FOR OUR PROPOSED REGIONAL SLUDGE SEPTAGE FACILITY <br />PROJECT # US-88-07-SLSE <br />BACKGROUND <br />On February 23, 1988, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />monies for the design of a Regional Sludge Facility by Camp, Dresser <br />and McKee. The timing of this DESIGN was critical as we were <br />applying for an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Grant for 55% <br />of the grant eligible portion of the project. <br />ANALYSIS <br />We have now received an offer of grant monies in <br />$1,836,570.00. To receive this Grant, we must have <br />to the EPA by November 9, 1988. The funding for <br />portion of the construction costs is currently being <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />the amount of <br />our acceptance <br />the remaining <br />put in place. <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners approve and adopt the attached Resolution No. <br />88- and, by doing so, approve the signing of all EPA acceptance <br />documents. <br />N O V 1 1988 <br />91 <br />BOOK 75 PAGE 91 <br />
