PLANT WITH CAMP, DRESSER AND MCKEE, INC. (CDM) <br />PROJECT NUMBERS UW -88 -01 -WC UW -88=O2 -WC:- UW -88 -03 -WC <br />BACKGROUND <br />Sometime ago, we undertook a selection process to pick a consulting <br />firm to handle our water treatment plant engineering; the top ranked <br />firm was Camp, Dresser and McKee, -Inc. Since CDM was ranked number <br />one over our previous consultant, D.S.S. Engineers Inc., it was <br />decided to switch all ongoing projects to the newly selected <br />consultant. At the onset of this project, we decided not to have <br />approval on all of the funds necessary for engineering services on <br />this project until it was determined exactly what would be required <br />during construction. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The consulting firm of Camp, Dresser and McKee are prepared to <br />assume engineering responsibilities for the remainder of this <br />project. The Engineering services they have proposed cover the <br />identical scope of services as those proposed by D.S.S., our <br />previous consultant on this project, and are for approximately the <br />same cost, as follows: <br />DSS CDM <br />Engineering costs $40,613.00 $41,900.00 <br />associated with R. O. <br />Plant expansion <br />completion <br />The monies for this work have been set aside and will be transferred <br />from the Utilities Department Impact Fee Fund to the project <br />account. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Indian River <br />County Board of County Commissioners approve the above action and, <br />by doing so, authorize the signing of the forthcoming work <br />authorization. <br />NOV 8 1988 <br />37 <br />BOOK .10 fr{CE LJ5 <br />
