JAN 3 1989 <br />BOOK 75 FAH 445 <br />Commissioner Scurlock passed the gavel to Chairman Wheeler, <br />who opened the floor to nominations for Vice Chairman. <br />Commissioner Bird placed the name of Commissioner Eggert in <br />nomination. <br />There being no further nominations, Chairman Wheeler <br />declared the nominations closed, and Commissioner Eggert was <br />elected Vice Chairman by acclamation. <br />PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION TO ALFRED MacADAM <br />Commissioner Bird read aloud the following proclamation: <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Alfred MacAdam served on the Indian River County <br />Parks and Recreation Committee since its inception in 1981; and <br />WHEREAS, Alfred MacAdam assisted the Gifford community by <br />obtaining donations of tennis rackets and balls for use at the <br />Gifford Park tennis courts; and <br />WHEREAS, Alfred MacAdam further served the Gifford residents <br />by acting as liaison between the Town of Indian River Shores and <br />Indian River County to promote the donation of land for the <br />Gifford Community Building; and <br />WHEREAS, Alfred MacAdam has given unselfishly of his time <br />and effprts to assist in the disposal of surplus County property; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, his contributions being too countless to name them <br />all, Alfred MacAdam has worked diligently to promote recreation <br />in all areas of the County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of itself and all the citizens of <br />Indian River County, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Board of County <br />Commissioners hereby expresses its sincere arpreciation to Alfred <br />MacAdam for his years of dedicated and exemplary service in the <br />field of recreation, and wishes him success in all his future <br />endeavors. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />• INDIAN 'RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />• <br />/iLa- <br />uChairman <br />Adopted this 3rd day of January, 1989 <br />2 <br />
