believe he will be a real asset and have a good rapport with <br />everyone. <br />Commissioner Eggert expressed her delight to have Mr. Judge <br />as the head paramedic and noted how happy she was with their <br />cooperation. <br />Commissioner Scurlock wished to have some comfort from the <br />County Attorney that these uniforms and kits are emergency items <br />and that we have legal ability to waive bids. <br />Attorney Vitunac advised that he signed the waiver of the <br />bidding procedures after Director Wright explained why these <br />items were needed right away. <br />Discussion arose about funding, and Commissioner Eggert <br />explained that the most of the funding for the uniforms will come <br />out of the money being transferred from the Hospital, but the ALS <br />kits will come out of pure contingency. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved waiver <br />of bids and funding in the amount of $21,900 for the <br />emergency purchase of uniforms prior to February 1st; <br />approved waiver of bids and funding in the amount of <br />$39,924 for the emergency purchase of ALS kits, etc., <br />as listed above; and approved Budget Amendments #028 <br />and #029, as follows: <br />TO: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Joseph A.
