JAN 17 1989 <br />75 _ <br />BOOK P �[ fig -0 <br />The <br />The agreement sets up the uses to which the revenues would <br />be devoted and the reporting obligations of the Chamber to <br />the Tourist Development Council. <br />The agreement was approved by the Tourist Development <br />Council on August 24, 1988 and has been executed by the <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the Chairman to <br />execute the agreement designating the Chamber of Commerce as <br />the Official County Tourist Bureau. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />adopted Resolution 89-9, designating the Chamber <br />of Commerce as the official County Tourist Bureau. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89- 9 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE COUNTY AND THE VERO BEACH -INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, <br />DESIGNATING THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AS <br />THE OFFICIAL COUNTY TOURIST BUREAU. <br />WHEREAS, on March 10, 1987 the voters of Indian <br />River County approved a tourist development tax and a <br />Tourist Development Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the approved plan provides for $30,000.00 <br />worth of tourist tax revenues to be provided to the Chamber <br />of Commerce for tourist information services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Tourist Development Council is <br />authorized by Indian River County Ordinance Section <br />21-253(a)(3) and by Florida Statute 125.0104(5)(a)3 to fund <br />tourist bureaus by contract with the Chambers of Commerce in <br />the County; and <br />WHEREAS, the agreement designating the Chamber of <br />Commerce as the Official County Tourist Bureau was approved <br />by the Tourist Development Council on August 24, 1988, <br />32 <br />
