Florida <br />COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER: STATE OF FLORIDA <br />Before the undersigned authority personally appeared J. J. FOR. <br />SUCH REFERENDUM; SETTING FORTH THE <br />WORDING FOR THE BALLOT; DEFINING THE <br />ALLOWED <br />ETTIO NG FORTTH SES OF THEETHOD 1F O C ' <br />ALLOCAT- <br />ING THE PROCEEDS OF SAID TAX; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SAID <br />TAX, IF APPROVED, AS PROVIDED FOR IN <br />212.055, FLORIDA STATUTES. <br />Anyone who may wish to appeal any decision <br />which may be made at this meeting will need to <br />ensure that a verbatim record of the proceed- <br />ings is made, which Includes testimony and evi- <br />dence upon which the appeal ,s towed. <br />January 12,1989 -• <br />Ni tory Public, :,,ore of Florio: <br />Mp Commission Cx1.1„rs Juno 29, 1989 <br />aoM1a.4 TU... v.. <br />County Attorney Vitunac explained this ordinance calls for a <br />referendum to let the people vote on the procedure allowed to the <br />counties by the state legislature which would provide a funding <br />source to pay for some of the mandates the state has required. <br />It allows a 14 sales tax to be tacked on to all purchases for a <br />period of no more than 15 years and the revenue produced is to be <br />used strictly for capital items with an expected life of 5 years <br />or more. Attorney Vitunac advised that the ordinance has some <br />qualifiers added by the Commission.
