LOCAL OPTION ONE -CENT SALES TAX REFERENDUM <br />SHALL INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ADOPT A ONE -CENT SALES TAX <br />FOR 15 YEARS FOR FUNDING CONSTRUCTION OF NEEDED COUNTY <br />FACILITIES, SUCH AS JAILS, COURT FACILITIES, AND HEALTH <br />BUILDINGS, AND FOR OTHER CAPITAL PROJECTS, IINCLUDING <br />PARKS, LAND ACQUISITION, DRAINAGE, AND ROADS, WITH ALL <br />SUCH PROJECTS QUALIFYING AS INFRASTRUCTURE, PURSUANT TO <br />CHAPTER 212.055, FLORIDA STATUTES, AND WITH THE LIST OF <br />PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED BY THESE REVENUES APPROVED AT A <br />PUBLIC HEARING? <br />FOR THE 1(D SALES TAX <br />AGAINST THE lit SALES TAX <br />SECTION 3. PURPOSE AND ALLOCATION OF SURTAX <br />If approved, the proceeds of said tax shall be used by <br />Indian River County and the municipalities located within <br />said county, only for infrastructure purposes as set forth <br />in §212.055, Florida Statutes. The proceeds of said tax <br />shall be allocated between Indian River County and the <br />municipalities within said county according to the formula <br />provided in §218.62, Florida Statutes. <br />SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE OF SURTAX <br />If approved, the tax will take effect on June 1, 1989. <br />This ordinance was advertised in the Vero Beach Press <br />Journal on the;► 12th day of January , 1989, for a <br />public hearing to be held on the 31st day of January <br />1989, at which time it was moved for adoption by <br />Commissioner Eggert seconded by Commissioner <br />Bowman , and adopted by the following vote: <br />Chairman Gary C.
