Approval of Minutes of Regular Meeting of 2/7/89 <br />Commissioner Bowman requested in the 4th paragraph on Page <br />69 that "Sebastian Exchange Club" be changed to read: "Fellsmere <br />Exchange Club". <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of 2/7/89, as <br />corrected. <br />B. Proclamation - RSVP Day <br />PROCLAMATION <br />DESIONATINO MARCH 8, 1489 <br />AS RSVP DAY IN <br />INDIA" RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />WHEREAS, in 1988, 425 senior volunteers, members of The <br />Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Indian River County <br />donated a total of 82,000 hours of volunteer service to Indian <br />River County at a savings of close to 8500.0001 and <br />WHEREAS, to honor these unselfish senior citizens, the <br />Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Indian River County will hold <br />its fourth annual Recognition Luncheon on Wednesday, March 8, <br />1989 at the Polish American Club; and <br />WHEREAS, The RSVP is eponaored by the Indian River County <br />Council on Aging and ACTION, the federal volunteer agencyt end <br />WHEREAS, RSVP isifounded on dedication and a commitment to <br />provide a variety of opportunities for retired persons who aro <br />age 60 or more to participate more fully in life through <br />significant volunteer servicer and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County benefits greatly by the <br />thousands• of volunteer hours that senior citizens donate each <br />•years end <br />WHEREAS, p sly more then 84 non-profit organizations and <br />agencies have senior volunteers doing a number of challenging and <br />interesting volunteer jobs in our community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that Wednesday. <br />March 8, 1989 be designated as <br />RSVP DAY <br />in Indian River County. <br />BE IT FURTHER' PROCLAIMED that the Board commends the <br />unselfish senior citizen vol who donate their time and <br />efforts in this County. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />1NDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Ire. 1,04.ry y. irheeler, Chairman <br />Adopted this 28th day of February; 1989 <br />2 <br />
