Attorney to draft a proposal to allow provisional gaintime only <br />when the jail exceeds capacity. <br />Chairman Wheeler explained that what the Committee would <br />like to do is have Attorney Vitunac prepare something which would <br />go back to the Committee, etc., and then come before this Board <br />for final approval. <br />Attorney Vitunac invited the Commissioners to attend the <br />Correctional Planning Committee meetings when gaintime will be <br />discussed. The meetings are open to the public. <br />Commissioner Bird didn't object to Attorney Vitunac drafting <br />an ordinance and coming back with more information. <br />Chairman Wheeler advised that he would notify the <br />Commissioners of the dates of the meetings when gaintime would be <br />discussed by the Correctional Planning Committee. <br />Item P4 - Courthouse Security <br />Commissioner Wheeler advised that the Committee is <br />continuing to explore the costs involved. <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Commissioner Bird read aloud the following Summary of <br />Actions for the meeting of March 9, 1989, and no action was <br />taken. <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />SUMMARY OF ACTIONS <br />MARCH 9, 1989 <br />The following is a summary of actions for the March 9, 1989 <br />meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee: <br />1) There was a brief review of the Recreation and Open Space <br />Element draft. There was no Committee action. <br />2) It was recommended that the Ndrth Beach Complex name be <br />changed to Treasure Shores Park. There was no opposition to <br />the change. <br />3) A presentation was made of the Historical Society's <br />suggested plan for the Jungle Trail corridor.
