REFERENCES: <br />ilding and Grounds Division <br />Description and Conditions <br />During Budget preparations for fiscal year 1988-89, funds were <br />requested for interior alterations to the County Development <br />Department's office space. The actual configuration of these <br />changes was unknown at the time of request. Funding was approved <br />at $6000.00. <br />Community Development Director, Bob Keating, has since provided a <br />more specific plan for altering the existing space. <br />Unfortunately, the requested alterations far exceed the funds <br />available within the Building and Grounds Division budget. <br />Alternatives and Analysis <br />The demolition of five existing offices and the reconfiguration <br />of the space will require that the work be completed in phases. <br />We hope to perform demolition, new walls, painting and carpeting <br />in each area prior to employees returning to their respective <br />offices. <br />A combination of contracted and in-house labor will be used in <br />order to move the project along and control costs. <br />I have listed below the/elements of the project and the expected <br />cost of construction of each. <br />New Partitions $4500.00 <br />Electrical ' $2300.00 <br />HVAC $3500.00 <br />Ceiling $300.00 <br />Painting $700.00 <br />Carpeting $8600.00 <br />Total: $19,900.00 <br />Previously Budgeted: $6000.00 <br />Total Funds Required: $13,900.00 <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval of request for alteration of the <br />Community Development office space and required funding. <br />63 <br />
