The first thing <br />would be a contract with the church with contingencies, and the <br />second would be the adoption of a resolution authorizing <br />condemnation of that property. In the meantime, we would be <br />talking with the land owner to assure that he was happy with that <br />procedure. <br />Commissioner Scurlock was just looking for a Motion that <br />lets us move ahead, but would satisfy Commissioner Bird's concern <br />in that it provides us with an ability to say that we are going <br />to move somewhere else. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously authorized <br />staff to begin the process as long as that doesn't <br />inhibit our ability to withdraw. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he still preferred to wait for <br />the master plan, but didn't mind our going through the process <br />and developing the facts. He probably would vote against it when <br />it comes back though. <br />Commissioner Eggert emphasized that the courthouse has to be <br />built somewhere in Vero Beach as it is the county seat. <br />89 <br />
