TO: <br />FROM: <br />BOOK 77 FA ;E 22 <br />Commissioner Eggert stated that she has a little trouble pur- <br />chasing a 1984 car even with only 30,000 miles on it. She is <br />mainly concerned, however, about the question of who should have a <br />car allowance and who should have a car. <br />Administrator Chandler noted that the original request was <br />for a car allowance. He advised that what he has found as he has <br />gotten into this is that there has been no clear cut policy on car <br />allowance versus who gets a vehicle, and he believed we need an <br />overall policy we can live with. When this item came to his desk, <br />he considered the age of the vehicle and the cost, and believed <br />that this individual because of his duties with the library <br />projects, etc., should have some form of transportation or <br />reimbursement, and he felt this was the way to go for the short <br />range. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board approved Budget Amendment <br />#080 for a 1984 Ford automobile to be used by the <br />Buildings and Grounds Superintendent. <br />Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />Joseph A.
