FRED MERKEL <br />ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING & OPERATIONS <br />SUBJECT: PROPOSED WATER SERVICE <br />ON 14TH AVENUE NORTH OF 2ND STREET <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Department*of Utility Services wishes to set up an assessment <br />district to supply water to Indian River Heights in the near future. <br />However, there is a potential customer on 14th Avenue south of 2nd <br />Street, which will be in the proposed assessment district, who <br />`requires water service immediately. We want to enter into a <br />,.Developer's Agreement with this individual to -provide him with water <br />.service now. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The property is located a distance of 1551 south of the right-of-way <br />line on 2nd Street. 'We are proposing to construct a 6" water line <br />from the water line in 2nd Street south to the southern limits of <br />his property. The property owner will reimburse the County for the <br />cost of the line from the south side of 2nd Street to the water main <br />and for the full 110' of line in front of his property. The cost of <br />the jack and bore across 2nd Street and the 155' of 6" line north of <br />the property will be added into the cost of the future assessment <br />district. (See attached agreement and map for details.) <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Indian River County Board of County Commissioners approve the <br />attached Developer's Agreement. <br />111 <br />�ao� 7 J 7F'ar,E 49`1 <br />
