Planner Boling confirmed that his understanding from the <br />Historic Preservation people in Tallahassee is that any time <br />there is development that could impact or would abut something on <br />the National Register where there are federal or state funds <br />involved, it would require federal and/or state review. <br />Commissioner Scurlock also understood that if any of the <br />adjacent property owners object to being placed on the National <br />Register, they, in fact, would not make the list, and Commis- <br />sioner Eggert confirmed that the Atlanta and Washington offices <br />told her that if anyone objects, it will not go on the National <br />Register. <br />Commissioner Scurlock brought up the Resolution adopted by <br />the Board in support of this being placed on the National Regis- <br />ter, and believed that support was conditional on minor realign- <br />ments being allowable because of safety reasons. He wondered if <br />we ever got anything from anyone in writing about that because <br />that was a condition of the Resolution. <br />Planner Boling stated that he had never received anything in <br />writing. <br />Commissioner Bird asked Planner Boling about his feeling <br />'regarding the probability of Jungle Trail being added to the <br />National Register. <br />Planner Boling believed the Historical Society is applying <br />not the County, but in talking with Bill Thurston of the State <br />and Dr. Adams of Historic Properties Associates about this, he <br />understands that there are no roads in Florida that are in the <br />National Register. He believed that are some in other states <br />(Natchez Trace and Cumberland Gap), but it seems those were <br />untouched by development and in pristine condition. He felt it <br />is really difficult to assess the potential for registering of a <br />road because there are so few on the Registry. <br />Commissioner Eggert believed there was some concern on the <br />part of Dr. Adams that even the presence of Sea Oaks and other <br />45 77�� ���� BOOK f'dE 1 <br />
