Tuesday, July 25th, if necessary <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />the above schedule for the budget workshops. <br />ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE AGREEMENT W/SEBASTIAN FOR USE OF BUILDING FOR <br />EMS ALS SERVICE <br />The Board reviewed memo from EMS Director Doug Wright: <br />T0 <br />------ <br />:J----ames--Chandl--------er-------------D---ATE---June------19----1989------------------ <br />County Administrator <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Assignment of Lease <br />Agreement with City of Sebastian for Use <br />of Building for Indian River County EMS <br />Advanced Life Support Service <br />FROM: Doug Wrigk, Director <br />Emergency Management Services <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein <br />be given formal consideration by the Board of County Commissioners <br />at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On April 18, 1989, the Indian River County.Board of County <br />Commissioners approved the staff recommendation whereby paid <br />professional paramedics would be employed for the Sebastian area to <br />staff the emergency response vehicles operated by the Indian River <br />County Advanced Life Support Service. <br />Part of the recommendation approved by the Board was to authorize <br />staff to contact municipal officials in Sebastian regarding <br />utilization of the existing structure for the EMS service as an <br />operations base. This has been accomplished in the form of the <br />attached Assignment of Lease Agreement prepared and agreed to by the <br />respective attorneys representing the County and the City of <br />Sebastian. The document is now before the Board of County <br />Commissioners for approval and execution. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The structure described in the legal documents is the same building <br />that was previously utilized by volunteer ambulance organizations. <br />Its central site provides quick response to various locations in the <br />Sebastian and surrounding areas. The Sebastian municipal officials <br />were quick to agree to allow the County use of the building and <br />service has continued without interruption to citizens in they <br />northern part of the County. <br />99 <br />pp r�n� <br />C 00 7 7 f ,. 6 C 2, <br />
