NEW HIRE FOR EXISTING LEGAL SECRETARY I_POSITION <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 7/10/89: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney <br />DATE: July 10, 1989 <br />RE: NEW HIRE FOR EXISTING LEGAL SECRETARY I POSITION <br />The County Attorney's Office has been advertising since <br />approximately April for a beginning legal secretary to fill <br />a position vacated by a resignation in our office. The <br />current budgeted salary for that position is $15,392 <br />annually. We have found a qualified applicant who will take <br />the position for $16,431 annually, which we have agreed to. <br />Because of the length of .time this position has been vacant, <br />our budget has sufficient funds to pay this salary increase <br />through the end of the fiscal year, and we request <br />authorization to hire the new employee at the requested <br />rate, which is well within the salary range for the position <br />which is --$14-93T "to $20,163. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously <br />approved the County Attorney's request for a <br />new hire for the existing Legal Secretary I <br />Position, as set out in the above memo. <br />NORTH COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT MEETING <br />The Chairman announced that immediately following <br />adjournment, the Board of County Commissioners would reconvene <br />acting as the District Board of Fire Commissioners of the North <br />Indian River County hire District.
