F_ <br />JUL 2�`969 4 <br />BOOK 1 F'{ �E 442 <br />Attorney Vitunac advised that Mr. Hurst has said that this <br />type of letter would satisfy his tax reasons and he would enter <br />into negotiations with the County to sell the 3 lots he owns <br />which are to the west of the First Baptist Church. <br />Attorney Vitunac explained that he had felt it would be too <br />complicated to structure the third -party trade that was discussed <br />and that it would be better to buy these lots and then have a <br />contract with the church to effect the.other closing. The above <br />letter, if authorized today by the Board, would be a threat of <br />condemnation which would enable Mr. Hurst to roll over his <br />capital gains. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, that the Board authorize <br />the County Attorney's office to send the proposed <br />letter to Harry Hurst. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Bird said he would vote for <br />this if this property was to be used for the overall downtown <br />complex, not just for the library, and Commissioner Eggert <br />interjected that it would be used for the Courthouse. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
