Proclamation Honoring Charles V. Joyce Jr. <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, CHARLES V. JOYCE, JR. died on August 12, <br />1989; and <br />WHEREAS, CHARLES V. JOYCE, JR. demonstrated a keen <br />interest in tourism in Indian River County and was appointed <br />to serve on the Tourist Development Council; and <br />WHEREAS, CHARLES V. JOYCE, JR. was instrumental in <br />assisting Indian River County in adopting a plan for levying <br />and imposing an additional one cent sales tax for planned <br />County improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, it was the unanimous consensus of the Tourist <br />Development Council that enacting this sales tax for a <br />limited time and purpose would be the fairest way to fund <br />capital items our County and cities need to provide a <br />quality place to live; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the <br />memory of CHARLES V. JOYCE, JR. be honored for his <br />participation in County government by his service on the <br />Tourist Development Council. <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board commends the <br />past efforts of CHARLES V.
