B. Proclamation Commending Sebastian Volunteer Fire Department <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, the SEBASTIAN VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT was <br />organized and began operation in 1961; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 6, 1989 the SEBASTIAN VOLUNTEER <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT hosted the Grand Opening of a new fire <br />station located on US Highway 1 in Sebastian; and <br />WHEREAS, no revenues were utilized in the construction <br />of this fire station and this represents a savings of <br />$300,000 to the taxpayers of this County; and <br />WHEREAS, this is the second fire station the SEBASTIAN <br />VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT has constructed. The first was <br />accomplished at Barber Street which was opened in 1988 at a <br />cost of $100,000, and again no tax revenues were utilized; <br />and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS. -OF - INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that <br />congratulations be extended to the SEBASTIAN VOLUNTEER FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT for the tremendous job they did in"getting the <br />new station built in Sebastian. <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the SEBASTIAN VOLUNTEER <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT be commended for this salutary undertaking <br />and demonstration of selfless dedication to improve the <br />facilities that house, to a large degree, the fire <br />apparatus/equipment used in fire suppression efforts in the <br />North County area. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />e:�Z e:�"Z <br />G RY WHEELER, CHAIRMAN <br />Adopted this 15th day of August, 1989 <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />The Chairman announced that immediately upon adjournment, <br />the Board would reconvene acting as the District Board of <br />Commissioners of the Solid Waste Disposal District. <br />Those Minutes are being prepared separately. <br />A U G 49 E00K 7 F: 645 <br />L <br />
