L714 -88 -01 -WC <br />PREPARED AND STAFFED BY: WILLIAM F. McCAIN <br />CAPITAL PROJECTS ENER <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />BACKGROUND <br />On Tuesday, July 25, 1989, the Board of County Commissioners <br />approved the final Change Order for this project. We have secured <br />Release of Liens and the required Maintenance Bonds from the general <br />contractor (Butler Construction), and we.now wish to make final <br />payment on this work. <br />ANALYSIS <br />yr <br />The original contract price is $1,154,115.00. There were two <br />subsequent Change Orders that were approved by the Board of County <br />Commissioners totaling $151,584.50, making the total contract <br />$1,305,699.50. The Maintenance Bond for this contract has been set <br />at $918,799.50, which is the final contract price minus the cost of <br />the Crom storage tank, on which we have a (5) five year warranty <br />from Crom. The final payment due the contractor is $107,106•.50. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve Butler Construction's final <br />payment request. <br />53 <br />,AUG 2 COOK % I F';,iUL �. <br />
