Alit 2 3 <br />1989 <br />BOOK <br />i l F,,UL 57 <br />Director Keating noted <br />if staff is given that <br />direction, <br />they will coordinate with Mr. Merkel of Utilities and put in such <br />a footnote. <br />Mr. Merkel informed the Board that we already have a very <br />small subdivision where we -are mandating they put in water and <br />sewer, and Commissioner Scurlock gave an example of the Schlitt <br />property where it is absolutely essential that they have public <br />water and sewer service because of their drainage problem. <br />OBJECTIVE 3 SURFACE WATER AND GROUNDWATER QUALITY <br />By 1992, the county in coordination with the County Public Health <br />Unit, Division of Environmental Health as part of the permitting <br />process, will have a set of adopted requirements governing the <br />use of septic tanks and package treatment plants to protect <br />surface water and groundwater quality. <br />Commissioner Scurlock commented that in relation to this you <br />are talking about mandatory maintenance of septic tanks, and Mr. <br />Merkel stated that he personally would strongly urge the removal <br />of all septic tanks. <br />OBJECTIVE 4 WATER CONSERVATION <br />By 1995, the county will reuse a minimum of 90 of its wastewater <br />by spray irrigation in locations approved by regulatory agencies <br />as identified in the Sanitary Sewer Sub -Element. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 5 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS <br />By 1995, the county will have completed improvements to the <br />sanitary sewer facilities as outlined in Table 3.A.12 of the <br />sanitary sewer sub -element.
